This document contains useful information, phone numbers and the house rules.

CHECKING IN/OUT: Check-in from 2/3 pm. Check out at 10/11 am.

HOUSEKEEPER: Evelyn will be on site every day except Sundays. You may agree with her on when you want her to arrive every morning during your stay.

CHEF: At an additional charge, we can make arrangements for a chef if you'd like. The associated cost is approximately Kshs 2,000 - 2,500 a day.

SATISFACTION: If anything is not satisfactory upon arrival or during your stay, please report to the housekeeper immediately. We intend to resolve issues as soon as possible.

HOUSE RULES

No smoking: Smoking is not permitted in the villa. You may smoke outside in the garden. Please discard of cigarette butts in the bin.

No parties: Parties and loud sound systems are not allowed. Please respect the neighbors. Quiet hours are between 10.30/11pm. Small or day functions may be allowed with prior permission.

Swimming Pool: Kindly note that swimming is at your own risk as there is no lifeguard on duty. Non-confident swimmers and small children should be cautious and always supervised. Additional caution should be exercised where alcohol consumption is concerned. We request that you shower prior to entering the pool.

Glasses and bottles are prohibited in and around the swimming pool. There are colored pool towels in every room. Kindly do not use the regular bath towels for the pool.

Damages: Please note that you will be responsible for any damage, breakage or loss during your stay. Replacements will be at the current associated cost. You may replace damaged items on your own or you can reimburse us at face value (i.e. a glass is Kshs 200-250).

House Keys: It is safe to leave your bedrooms unlocked but please feel free to lock up. The cost of replacing any lost keys will be passed on to the responsible party.

Safe: There is a safe in the master bedroom for your valuables.

THE VILLA

Air conditioning: Please note that in the event of a power black out, the air conditiners will not run on the back-up power supply. Only the lights and sockets will be powered by the back up power supply. Kindly close the doors and windows to allow for the A/C's to work efficiently. We request that you use the A/C's responsibly and switch them off when not in use.

Useful Tip: Have a cold shower before bed and you will sleep better! Don't worry, "cold" is actually "lukewarm" for most of the year in Diani!

Wifi: The housekeeper will provide you with the password. Kindly note that Diani is on the 4G network and sometimes the wifi can be unreliable (unfortunately, this is not in our control). If you need to work during your stay (and especially for important meetings), we recommend you acquire a separate dongle or enable tethering as a back up.

Cleaning: Please leave your doors open to allow for cleaning on every day of the week except Sundays. The housekeeper is off on Sundays.

Amenities: We provide sheets and towels which will be changed every 3-4 days. We will also provide initial supplies of shower gels, hand soap, toilet rolls and drinking water. You will be expected to replenish these during your stay.

Hot Showers: The water heater switch is located in the laundry room and the housekeeper will show it to you. To conserve energy, kindly switch it on 30 minutes before use and switch it off when done.

Security Guard: The compound workers are available to open the gates during the day and we have a security guard at night. If you expect to be out late at night we strongly suggest that you take the security guard's phone number so you can alert him when you are making your way back home. This is precautionary so he can open the gate as soon as you arrive.

Washing Machine: The staff can wash your clothes for a fee of Kshs 500 per load. Ironing can also be arranged at an additional fee.

Monkeys: They are cute but please do not feed them!

Tipping: Please feel free to tip the staff if you have enjoyed your stay. They will appreciate it.

TRANSPORT & GETTING AROUND

Diani has a myriad of taxis, Tuk-Tuk's and motorbike riders for transportation. The housekeeper will gladly provide you with phone numbers you can call to arrange for this.

Car rental: You may also opt to rent a car. We can assist in this regard as well. The cost per day is approximately Kshs 3,500 - 4,000.
