Business Management | PMO | Finance
A globally experienced professional collaborating with prominent organisations in financial services, energy, consultancy, and a future-thinking agency. Possessing a background in finance, I have evolved into roles encompassing business and change management within both corporate and non-profit environments.
Capable of undertaking diverse portfolios, I emphasise identifying optimal solutions for the given challenges.
Future Thinking
During my time at Minkowski in New York City, I facilitated the transformation of organisations to be future-ready.
Through collaborative sessions, our team assisted clients in identifying potential futures, defining pertinent future themes, and converting them into actionable strategies and roadmaps for implementation.
Simultaneously, I played a pivotal role in expanding the client pipeline in the North American market.
Change
Throughout my tenure in London, my focus has predominantly been on roles related to change management.
I successfully implemented various program management offices to strengthen governance practices.
In addition to overseeing several smaller projects, I led a large HR offshoring program that established a project management capability spanning three locations in India.
Finance & Support
As a qualified finance manager, I laid the foundations for financial frameworks early in my professional journey.
Subsequently, my finance background and adept problem-solving skills positioned me to assume diverse responsibilities in business management and program office roles.
Additionally, I hold an Executive Master in Finance & Control (Finance MBA) from the Amsterdam Business School.
Energy
In the initial phase of my career, I worked in the energy industry. First, I served as a management consultant specialising in market deregulation and energy trading. I provided counsel to power exchanges and utilities across Asia and Europe, concurrently delivering training on market deregulation and energy trading.
Subsequently, I spent a few years working at a shared services unit within a utility company based in the Netherlands.
Financial Services
I pursued studies in business economics and finance, subsequently serving as a finance manager for nearly four years. I then embarked on an extensive career in the City of London, initially holding positions as a senior financial analyst and commercial manager at ABN Amro. Later, I transitioned to the Royal Bank of Scotland (now NatWest Group), where I assumed roles in business management and program management within both Retail and Global Markets.
Teacher
I have a strong enthusiasm for kitesurfing and a genuine love for snow sports and martial arts.
My passion for these activities led me to become a kitesurf instructor on the beaches of New York and a martial arts teacher, conducting self-defense classes in Central Park.
These experiences have provided me with a unique perspective on people management, training, and personal development.
Community builder
In 2018, I established NYC Kiteboarding, and earlier in 2014, I co-founded the London Kitesurfers Association.
Together, these clubs boast over 3000 members across the two cities. I take pleasure in coordinating social events, organising group holidays, and engaging in activities such as beach clean-ups for the members.
Notably, these experiences have contributed to the development of my interpersonal and leadership skills.
Global Citizen
I've had the privilege of living and working in locations such as Amsterdam, London, Boston, New York, and Nairobi, and have managed projects across Asia and South-Asia.
Embracing the challenges of collaborating with individuals from various cultural backgrounds has significantly enhanced my intercultural skills.
Additionally, I am proficient in several languages: Dutch (native), English, Portuguese, and currently learning Swahili.
